We built Hong₿ao because there was no good way to gift Bitcoin especially to kids.
When Stéphane’s son Eren was born in 2021, he got traditional red envelopes with cash from family. A friend even gave him an envelope with a QR code leading to an ETH wallet full of random tokens. That moment sparked an idea: what if we could give Bitcoin instead something simple, meaningful, and built to last?
So we designed a paper wallet that feels like a real gift. It looks like a banknote, works offline, needs no KYC, and can be printed at home. It brings together tradition and Bitcoin in a way that's personal and practical.
