My name's Harrison, and today I'm excited to launch Swepe to the public.
Swepe is an ethical bitcoin collision generator.
A what?
Over 4 million BTC are estimated to be lost or otherwise unspendable, and that number will continue to grow.
The only way to recover any of them is to essentially re-create the private keys for those addresses, randomly. It's very challenging - like finding 1 atom in the entire universe.
That's what we call a collision.
The math behind collisions makes them astronomically unlikely. But persistence and 'time in the game' matters here; over a long time horizon it's not impossible.
Normally, generating collisions could lead to chaos; if it could be done predictably it would upset the entire security mechanism of Bitcoin. But done with a vetted list of addresses, we'll ensure that unwanted collisions are ignored and only addresses that are lost are checked.
But such a challenge is not without reward; about half a trillion dollars as of today is locked in these wallets.
