Pumped to launch Strut today! @natechiger and I started working on this at the beginning of the year when we found that "social shopping" is rarely social and is almost always cumbersome. We are really excited to give people a way to proactively broadcast their style and have fun by creating outfits. Looking forward to getting your feedback and fielding questions!
Have been testing Strut for a few weeks and it's one of the best fashion-related apps I've ever tried. Highly relevant recommendations + well-designed app
My biggest challenge is finding clothes that fit. Most shirts/coats are non-fitted boxes and I only find out after trying them on.
@markdaniel94 how are you curating apparel and do you have plans to help people find better fitting clothes for their body type?
@rrhoover This is an awesome question. Fit is a huge problem. Strutting through Tennessee you may be considered "real thin like" but in Milan or Tokyo you are a giant. Right now most of the curation is focused around making sure we are showing you the right styles, we don't have a ton of intelligence around fit...yet. In the future we will be able to understand the sizing attributes of each brand and check that against cut/sizing of things you like.
The opportunity to use data to truly enhance the user experience is tremendous. This is unequivocally what the team is most excited about.
@rrhoover@markdaniel94 Agreed. Fit and material are most important for me. I love that they zoom in on some products to get a better idea of the material.
