Pros: - Quickly put together a starting point for editing. - Sharable with viewer analytics. Cons: - As of Dec 17, 2024 the AI tools do not work and will waste your time due to odd errors. - Many the templates are similar so presentations will feel generic after a while. - High cost given how buggy the tool is.
Helps me do in minutes what would usually take me weeks. Was considering paying a designer to create templates for my team in Canva or hiring a content person to help with the higher stakes presentations I'm not getting to like sales etc. Now in storydoc, because the content is the right fit, I can get through a presentation in a few minutes and just fill in the info and then I'm satisfied with the result and get a "wow" resopnse. So I feel like I can power through on my own and don't feel the need to hire outside help anymore. I've tried other pretty products before and always got stuck with something that wasn't exactly what I needed, but here that's not the case, and I think the person who designed the content is mostly to thank for. Happily subscribed twice, once for my nonprofit org and once again for my freelance business. Thanks Storydoc team, you've built something special. Keep it coming!
As a startup, we are extremely mindful of how we allocate resources, which is why we signed up for Storydoc to trial it alongside other platforms before committing. However, we quickly encountered a major issue—access to the platform was locked unless we paid for an account, something that was not made clear upfront. What made this even worse was the unexpected charge for three user seats. Simply adding collaborators during the trial resulted in automatic billing, even though the additional users never even used the platform. This was never clearly communicated, and it felt like a deliberate attempt to extract more money rather than a fair business practice. When we reached out to Storydoc for a refund, we were met with a refusal, even for the two extra seats that were never used. Their response attempted to justify this by pointing to their terms, but transparency shouldn’t require users to dig through fine print to avoid hidden charges. As a UX/UI designer, I find this kind of dark pattern design incredibly frustrating and unethical. Good products succeed by offering value, not by misleading users into paying for something they didn’t expect. Because of this experience, we will never use Storydoc again and will actively warn others against it. If you’re considering this platform, be very careful—what seems like a simple trial could turn into unexpected charges with little recourse.
Great, clean product with awesome customer support. Highly recommended! I have had Storydoc for a few months now and the more I keep using it, the more use cases I discover. We use it not only for prospecting for customers, but also for internal SOPS and information to make content more interactive and easy to read and navigate. Customer service is also great! Overall, highly recommend this product.
This is great, speeds up creating presentations and makes them more interesting.
It is expensive. It is not a good simple editor. It is slow. Support is slow. The slides dont position very well, some are short some exceed the page
