Copycats are everywhere. Makers watch their products stolen, costing them dearly and jeopardizing their livelihoods. That is why we created Stop Copycats. You just upload the copycat, and we enforce global law to force providers to shut it down immediately.

A few days ago, a tweet went viral: A maker was feeling bad after discovering 2 of his products were had been copied. Check out the screenshots from the Product Hunt launch; it was disheartening. These copycats jeopardize the livelihoods of entrepreneurs, especially smaller ones. So we decided to create this product which is quite simple but works incredibly well. After using it, now the copycat is gone. We use DMCA takedown notices to compel providers to remove the copies. We automated the process of contacting them, and they are legally obliged to comply. We hope this product can help some makers. Have a wonderful day and enjoy the craft!

Hello makers. We totally love the build in public community and we had to do something to fight against the copy cat cases we where experiencing lately. So we decided to build stop copycats to help fighting them, we you really like it and that this helps:

This is really cool but what stops a copycat from reporting the original? Or anyone reporting any site just to be a troll? @jacinto_fleta :) Great work :)

Ofc, I'm not a fan of copycats and generally following someone else's execution 1:1 without original thinking is a poor strategy. But is replicating a site's copy or general layout (without direct references or use of trademarked words) against DMCA rules?

@rrhoover thanks for commenting! The focus is on the product itself. Some individuals purchase a downloadable product and then resell it. If your landing page is super similar to theirs, it is not an issue unless you have used their images.
