After being deprived of my coffee shop writing environment during the pandemic, I started work on an app that would provide the "useful" distraction I can't get at home. I am also, like many writers, addicted to twitter notifications so I decided to use them to my own benefit so I could get that hit of dopamine while I write. Being neurodivergent, creating an environment full of distractions helped me focus much better than a "minimal" writing app. When I released StimuWrite 1 on twitter, on a lark, the reception blew me away with hundreds of other writers who were apparently waiting for a tool just like it—without knowing it. I decided to dedicate my time to creating a new version that was more polished, more fun, and incorporated the feature suggestions and improvements from the writing community. I just released version 2, and it's available on itchio as donationware. I hope it will help you in your writing journey too!
