Hey everyone - this is Andrew with Starlight Charging. EV charging stations are a great opportunity for generating passive income, once the stations are installed. Problem: The US needs 100x more EV charging stations to be installed in the next 10 years if gasoline cars will be replaced by EVs. Rather than leaving this work up to the oil companies, who will drag their feet, we think blitzscaling charging needs to be done right, and done soon. Our Solution: We are empowering the hard-working electricians of the world to not only solve the charging gap, but also be financially rewarded for doing so. We built magical software that can help analyze millions of candidate charging station locations for profitability, and manage the installation process – everything from permitting and contracts to material and labor management. We built integrations with over 30 different EVSE manufacturers, so that you can operate different charging station models all from one dashboard. After installation, operating a charging station business does require some ongoing work – stations need to be regularly inspected, updated, and retail prices need to be adjusted for fluctuations in energy prices. Starlight’s all-in-one platform streamlines this part of the business for you. Just like a vending machine, as people use your charging stations, you’ll collect small amounts of revenue day-after-day. How did we get here? We have spent several years honing our own EV charging station operation through Starlight Charging – we have installed and operate ports all across the country. Through this process, we not only built custom software, but we discovered that electricians are in a unique position to profitably install and run the charging stations themselves. Why Electricians? First, a large majority of the installation cost is labor. Electricians can install stations during off-peak times, meaning they’ll keep their team busy now, investing in recurring revenue for later. Next, unlike nontechnical folk, electricians understand how these systems operate – it’s their bread and butter. Finally, if a charging station goes offline and needs maintenance, a locally-based station owner can get them repaired sooner – the incentives to keep the stations operating reliably are aligned!
