Square One Startup School is a virtual pre-accelerator program helping first-time founders build a scalable business model around their product in 10-Weeks.
Being a Mentor at TechStars and previously running a Pre-Accelerator at Atlanta Tech Village for 2-years I noticed 3 things:
1) First-time Founders are super laser focused on building out the full version of their product (features and all) without speaking to potential customers first and knowing if there is a real need in the market for it or not. Causing them to spend thousands of dollars on product development overseas.
2) Many Founders think that the only way to scale is to raise Venture Capital before starting. I would see founders spend majority of their time trying to meet with investors rather than with customers to generate sales.
3) We rejected a lot of applicants solely based on their geography - they weren't able to attend sessions in Downtown Atlanta on Wednesday mornings. This prevented many talented founders from accessing resources that could potentially take their startup to the next level.
Fast Forward to February 2020, I launched Square One Startup School, a 10-week virtual pre-accelerator connecting pre-product, pre-revenue, and pre-seed founders with the community, curriculum, and coaching needed to avoid costly mistakes, validate their concept, and scale in the most efficient way possible.
Over the course of 10-weeks we help founders across the world validate their idea by focusing on building email list and landing their first paying customers so that they can leverage that traction to negotiate better terms when it's time to scale through investments.
