What do you think? …

Barbara Chambers
Strange statistic. What is the goal of it?
Ilias Beshimov
@barbara_chambers Thank you for the question! The goal of the statistics is to shine a light on the difference between the number of male and female software engineers in the United States. There is a pronounced gender gap that grows as you look at more senior-level positions. With this data companies can create more informed hiring initiatives and diversity programs. It can also incentivize companies to recruit more female software engineers from STEM fields and offer more managerial training to women currently employed as individual contributors.
Ilias Beshimov
Hi Everyone! My name is Ilias and I am the Co-Founder and Chief Product Officer at Celential.ai, an AI-powered recruiting solution that bridges talent and opportunities. For Women’s History Month, we felt the need to call attention to the gender gap in tech by using our machine learning technology to see how women are represented in the critical field of software engineering. We compiled a report from our proprietary Talent Graph, which maps 5M+ technical talent across North America. Some questions you can expect to be answered: - What percentage of software engineers in the U.S. are women? How does that number change as the seniority of a software engineering position increases? - Which big tech companies are pushing meaningful change for female software engineers? Which aren’t? - Why are so few software engineers women? - How can you support the women in technical roles at your organization? I hope this report is valuable for informing your diversity hiring initiatives — let us know what you think and if you have any questions about expanding the gender diversity on your engineering team. Thanks for reading! Ilias, Celential.ai Co-Founder & Chief Product Officer

@ilias_beshimov @katerina_kurshina Totally agreed. Gender bias needs to be resolved not only in tech but also non-tech hiring.

@ilias_beshimov @katerina_kurshina What do you mean exactly when you say "not so introverted"?
Ilias Beshimov
@katerina_kurshina Really appreciate your support! As you said, women bring so much value to the technical teams, yet they are largely underrepresented. It is our goal to help companies realize the gender gap and take actions to remedy it.
Ilias Beshimov
@katerina_kurshina @amartya_bhargava Absolutely! We hope to provide more insights for non-tech domains in our future reports!
