Usually, more secure == harder to use, but we've built Self as a decentralised network using the best of Web3 tech to store the information we use to build trust (addresses, emails, phone numbers etc) just on YOUR device, not in a big company's cloud database, ready to appear in the next major data leak. By keeping your data close at hand, it's quick to use it to prove who you are and, with on-device biometrics, a fraction of the time it takes to use usernames, passwords and six-digit SMS verification codes. As app developers, you can on-board new users with a couple of taps, rather than two or three screens and an email verification. All users’ data stored in Self comes from externally verified sources, so you know it's legit, and every login after that has the same level of security, so you can be sure they're not sharing logins or leaving them on post-it notes stuck to their screens.
