@eon01 I'm mainly interested by OwnCloud (or NextCloud) & Monitoring minions. Can I jump in in these topics without the whole SaltStack. My stack is actually running in prod. Cheers!
@_pascalandy You should have some knowledge about Salt since you will for sure have some problems even in examples that worked for me without problems. The OwnCloud is not a production deployment but a development environment using Vagrant and Salt Formula. Even if in the monitoring part I am using simple bash scripts but some Salt knowledge is required.
DevOps engineer is a cross between a sysadmin and a developer. Let's talk about the key knowledge and skills that are needed for this position.
In general, a DevOps engineer is more about experience than knowledge of specific software. Devops guys are constantly learning, studying and testing new projects and technologies. They must constantly ask themselves the question: Will this technology improve our project? What is better to choose as a language: ruby, python, golang, or write in pure pluses? How are we going to deliver changes to production so as not to break working systems? accourding to alapcked https://iwanta.tech/ it is area where you can develop your skills and built a good carear
