is this a mental health-focused app on bell let's talk day? that's super, super cool - and it's even better that it's such a well-designed product. i'm curious about the mascot... why a blue monster??
Ania W
@ebethjanna Totally! The blue monster, named Ron, was something I designed when I was feeling really frustrated with anxiety one day. When I look back on it now I see there's a metaphorical connection of him being a monster and anxiety being the "monster inside of us". At the time, though, I just wanted to create something that depicted my mood, was cute and soft (despite the sharp teeth) and made me laugh. I hoped he would do the same for others. Thanks for the feedback on the design ๐Ÿ˜

@ebethjanna @ania_wysocka One thing I miss after switching to Android is that I can't use the Rootd iMessage app to send Ron stickers anymore. Too funny.

@devan_chiappetta_mccannel1 We'll have to get them on Android then! ๐Ÿ˜ธOfficially on the list of future product updates ๐Ÿ˜Š

Thanks for introducing us @awilkinson Hey Product Hunt ๐Ÿ‘‹(please see below for an exclusive offer for the Product Hunt community) Rootd is a labor of love created out of my personal experience with anxiety. It felt frustrating that I couldnโ€™t find a resource that was affordable, convenient, and not ugly to look at all at the same time. ๐Ÿš€ Rootd first launched as an MVP just over a year ago. Iโ€™ve bootstrapped the project by creating all graphics, content, wire-frames, UX, and marketing, and getting awesome help with development from @maxim_ellison. Weโ€™ve released several updates along the way, and another big one this week which I consider our โ€œofficialโ€ launch - adding improvements to the tools, exercises, and UX, and introducing the first translated version of Rootd (Portuguese). Rootd is free to download, and the core content is included with a free account forever (so that nobody feels they canโ€™t seek relief from anxiety due to financial reasons), including: โ€ข Panic Button โ€ข Understanding Lessons โ€ข Emergency Contact โ€ข Deep Breathing Tool โ€ข Guided Visualization โ€ข Personal Stats Page โ€ข the Rootd sticker pack for iMessage โ€ข a disgruntled blue monster named Ron who accompanies users on their journeys ๐ŸŒŸ Users wanting even more content, and to help support Rootd, can upgrade to All Access via a paid subscription (company subscriptions are also available). All Access includes: โ€ข Additional lessons (Short Term Relief & Long Term Relief series) โ€ข A more comprehensive Deep Breathing Tool โ€ข Longer Visualizations โ€ข Soothing Nature Sounds โ€ข And access to any content we add in the future (which we do regularly) If you or someone you care about might benefit from Rootd, I hope youโ€™ll give it a try. I will be here responding to every question or comment, and I look forward to hearing everyoneโ€™s thoughts! - Ania PS - We donโ€™t have the ability to offer Rootd coupons/discounts developed quite yet, but I want to offer a special deal for Product Hunters. So if you download Rootd and create your account, email me by February 1, 2019 (team@rootd.io) and Iโ€™ll set you up with one free month of Full Access ๐ŸŽ

I use the deep breathing exercise often - it's both calming and great daily practice. Congrats on making a beautiful app.

Pros:

- The breathing exercise is very calming - The blue monster is hilarious and mood-boosting - A comprehensive yet accessible resource

Cons:

- Not so much a con, but it would be nice if more languages were supported
