Hi! I'm the co-founder of Retro with @ryanolsonk. Ryan and I first worked together on the launch of Instagram Stories. We launched Retro last year as the app that we wanted for ourselves and for our friends - our answer to the question: "if you could start all over, what would the perfect social network look like in 2024?" Retro is a distraction-free social app that helps you reconnect with friends and build a photo retrospective of your life, one week at a time. Last year, we launched the ability to share weekly highlights with your friends, recap those highlights for Instagram, and print and ship any photo as a postcard to any address in the world. Now, with Journals, you can build retrospectives across any theme. Journals are group photo albums that make it easy to document your favorite moments with your favorite people - even if they don’t have Retro. You can backfill journals with old photos, and then update them with any new photos over time. Perfect for best friends chronicling their year together, couples celebrating milestones, and parents watching their kids grow up a little each day. Because you can invite members to add to a journal with a simple link, they’re also great for gathering post-event photos from people that may not know each other after birthdays, parties, or weddings. Keep your journal private for members-only, or share a public link to your followers on Instagram. Life moves fast.
