I created this simple image background removal tool as a completely free and open-source option for folks to remove image backgrounds within seconds.
removebg.dev leverages the popular Rembg AI model (https://github.com/danielgatis/r...) and the source code for the app can be found here (https://github.com/djirdehh/remo...).
Cool. I used remove.bg in the past and the built in iOS feature but it's really useful to have a free Apps around for this task.
But it is not perfect yet - I uploaded a picture with a person and some of the hair got removed while a bottle in the background kept around...
@cmiksche Thanks for the note Christoph! Yeah I noticed the tool isn't 100% perfect - depending on the image used, there could be chances were the background removal isn't done perfectly.
I'll look into this a bit to see if there's a way of optimizing this.
