Recce brings important testing idea from software development realm into data world. It is a great idea.

Hey Product Hunt! I’m CL, founder of Recce.
After two decades building developer tools, including one of the first distributed version control systems[1] used by Apple, I've witnessed firsthand how transforming the development process fundamentally reshapes entire industries.
As data-centric development workflows are taking over, we’ve hit a breaking point and the way we build and review data changes hasn’t kept up. This becomes the bottleneck for turning company's own data as their most valuable asset.
- Software engineers have CI and structured code reviews.
- Data teams too, but the automated parts are often shallow amd syntatic. mostly we rely on manual checks, scattered context, and fire-fighting to catch and fix issues.
We built Recce to fix that.
Recce helps data teams preview, validate, and share the impact of their changes before merging to production. It brings visibility and structure to the pull request process in dbt — not by copying software workflows, but by creating a new one designed around data impact assessment.
🔍 Understand what’s changing and track impact
Surface meaningful data differences and downstream impact automatically.
📋 Validate data impact with curated, context-aware checks
Turn insight into reproducible validations across dev and prod.
📣 Share data check results stakeholder and reviewers
Give reviewers and stakeholders confidence with embedded, explainable results.
We started with the Recce Open Source toolkit to help data practitioners inspect and validate changes locally.
Now, with Recce Cloud, teams can collaborate on and share validation results as part of building a reliable data review process that scales.
Validate your work as a data engineer, and share data checks with stakeholders and reviewers.
The goal is to turn every data change into a clear, confident, and collaborative review, and enable teams can move faster without breaking trust.
We’re just getting started, and we’d love your feedback.
Check it out, and let us know what you think!
