I met @ekurutepe in Berlin while I was in town for a conference, and when he explained Recast to me, it immediately clicked. That same day, I downloaded the app and I've been using it regularly since. It was a great way to clear out the massive amount of open tabs I had on my iPhone's Chrome app, where I'd keep articles I'd planned on reading (but never did)
Being able to turn that backlog into a queue of shortform audio that I can listen to whenever I'm biking somewhere has been a game-changer
Oh this is awesome, most of my time to read articles is when Im on the go, so I keep all these tabs open and never get to them - but I dont have enough time for hour long podcasts - perfect bite sized mix!
Recast is incredible! I struggle to prioritize what to read with my limited free time and often keep several tabs open to save articles. Recast helps me get through almost everything I want to read without needing to sit in front of the computer. I love it!
Love Recast been using since day one, awesome and the voices used are high quality and sounds like a natural interview makes long form easier to listen to.
This is so useful that the pitch kinda writes itself! "Are you the type of person whose browser always has 50 tabs of unread articles that "you're going to get to soon"? Stop lying to yourself -- you like to listen, not to read."
Been using since early beta. The idea is genius & I'm very impressed with the voices - they're very real and pleasant to listen to actually. The killer feature for me is recasting my own articles. Though there is a growing library and recommendations that actually work quite well, I love recasting long-form articles that I find on social media or that my friends send me. Keep going strong & good luck with the launch!
