What do you think? …

Why are my contacts sorted alphabetically? We live in a world where we're connected to our contacts across multiple platforms (email/blogs/social media). There's a tremendous amount of information produced, yet every time i look at my contact list, 'Aa' is at the top. Wouldn't it be a lot more helpful if my contacts were sorted by their latest activity? Last year, I began working on an application to solve this and today, I'm very excited to bring Radar to the Product Hunt community. Let me know what you think and i'll be here to answer any questions!

Nice, this could be applied to a whole range of repetitive tasks. Out of the 100.000+ folders on my Mac I'm normally using around 10 per day, they should be automatically highlighted in Finder or something. But back to this: nice hunt.

Congratulations on the launch! Sorting by last activity is definitely more useful than by alphabet. - What are some of the challenges you encountered during the development? - While the more social networks I connect the more useful the app will be, but I might also be overwhelmed by having too many contacts and duplicates, how do you envision to solve that? Gonna download it and give it a try! -- Update 1: Just downloaded it and connected my gmail and boom it just works! Great job dude! Update 2: Oh I thought the "last activity" are based on interactions with me, which is always the case for emails but not for social network activities. Just some candid feedback.

@coolnalu Hey Terry, thanks for the feedback. 1) Integrating with all the various platforms that Radar connects with was quite a challenge. Beyond that, choosing where we needed to remove features rather than add features was very hard. 2) Radar actually doesn't duplicate or merge your contacts from all over your networks. Contact synchronization is extremely complex and tough. It's something that we've seen tried many and many times, yet nobody has really gotten it. With this initial version of Radar, we wanted to zero in and solve contact quality rather than the quantity problem. We're absolutely focused on this idea of having a contact list that is sorted by activity and we still have a lot to do.
