We desire to bring Spotify-mentality to photo editing. We have developed a subscription-based mobile app which lets people who love photo filters use professional photographers' Lightroom presets on their own photos.
Hey, the filters look really nice on your Instagram and website. The download button on the site does not word for me for some reason (from Firefox on macOS). I like the whole 10 filters free per week, subscribe to use them all. It really is like Spotify in that sense.
I did not like having to create YET another account though. In my opinion, it would be best to allow users to use the app without an account and offer the same 10 free filters/week.
Now, the filters themselves are very nice but they take AGES to apply, any idea why it's so slow? Furthermore, all filters appear to be "loading" when they are in fact finished loading and ready to use. It seems like a glitch. Sometimes it works normally and sometimes it doesn't. On the plus side, the loading animation looks very cute. The design in general is pretty neat!
To conclude, I cannot see myself using this until the speed is improved. It's way too slow. It would take me less time to open Snapseed and make the tweaks manually.
@anna_0x Hey Anna, thanks for the feedback.
1) Presco will support web, iOS and Android and registration is required to sync your images but we may make it optional in the future.
2) Our editing technology runs on the cloud that's why it takes time and the duration can very depending on your network speed. We are still working on optimizing it.
We run on cloud because our filters are Lightroom Presets of actual professional photographers and it's impossible for us to make it as fast as any other filter app unless we partner with Adobe. And I believe it will take some time as well :)
@kaanayaz_ oh I see, I didn't realize they are Lightroom presets at first (I did once I carefully read the Play Store description). Still very very slow though to be honest and I'd say my connection is pretty average (aka not slow). The actual filters are great so I hope you guys can manage to speed it up and fix the bugs. I can see myself using this a lot!
@kaanayaz_ hey, I gave the app another try today and it seems to be much faster and not glitchy. Did you change something in the cloud or did my connection suddenly get much better?
Hello Product Hunt,
I'm the Founder & CEO of Presco and would like to tell you about what we are doing.
We are a group of ten, working together while traveling the world and helping other people.
Since we are traveling the world and working out of coffee shops, we make lots of new friends every day and most of them happen to be photographers who are also traveling. They've inspired us to build Presco because we noticed that most of them were selling their own Lightroom Presets online to make enough money to keep them on the road.
But using Lightroom presets requires tech knowledge so we decided to build an app which lets people apply professional photographers' Lightroom presets on their own photos.
In this way, Presco aims to help photographers make a sustainable living by bringing Spotify-mentality to photo editing.
