Hello everyone! 😊 As a fellow Software Engineer/Developer, I, like many of you, spend countless hours on my laptop. Over time, I began to notice that my posture was deteriorating. I experimented with various methods to improve it, including physical exercises, but nothing seemed to do the trick. After conducting thorough research on the subject, I concluded that the most effective way to enhance my posture was to maintain continuous awareness of maintaining a straight posture. I scoured the internet for apps that could assist me in this endeavor, but to my surprise, I couldn't find anything suitable. Most apps rely on cameras and AI to detect your movements and alert you when you slouch. However, I found this approach somewhat intrusive and occasionally inaccurate. That's when the idea for my first bootstrapped app, Posture Hero, was born. Posture Hero is a simple macOS menu bar app designed to remind you to maintain good posture. It can send you visual notifications or vocal reminders, featuring various sets of voice cues to help you sit straight. I hope you appreciate its simplicity and find it as useful as I do.
