With Plum, you can: - Set reminders to message your contact daily, weekly, monthly or annually - All the contacts from your phone in one place - No more forgetting which method to text or message your friend - Berries indicate how strong your relationship is
@amrith many personal CRMs focus on keeping in touch with friends/contacts. That's not what I'm looking and take an organic approach to my relationships (i.e. if I care about them, we'll stay in touch with out an external nudge).
@amrith@rrhoover Definitely true for close friends and family. But what about interesting people that you've met once or twice? That you might only have interacted with by email? What about all these people that are beyond the "close friend" barrier but with whom you definitely want to stay in touch with?
@nathan_ganser I can see this being useful for some people but not something that's particularly high priority for me. I value fewer, stronger personal relationships than a lot of loose connections.
@rrhoover Curious what kind of task/use case you've been trying to achieve with personal CRM tools? If it's not for managing loose connections, wouldn't other types of tools be more ideal, like Notion, Airtable, etc.
@nathan_ganser@rrhoover +1 to what everyone else said. I don't fully understand this fascination with a personal CRM from so many people in technology. Is this product not accomplishing the objective of a lightweight "personal CRM"? What else would a product like that do if not remind you to keep in touch with people...?
I love the simplicity of the design, though I think the biggest challenge with reminder apps is how to avoid being another notification that is snoozed/dismissed/deferred. I guess since these are self selecting folks should act on them at the scheduled time.
stoic.
