With big, beautifully designed artworks, it's up to you to put the color back into them pixel by pixel. Simply pick a canvas, find a spot and start colouring. Everyone colors together, so look out for other people helping you to complete your masterpiece.
I had this idea when I was looking for a way to allow large numbers of people to work together to create something great. To start with I had been playing around with some ideas similar to Reddit’s Place project, where each user could set the color of a single pixel each on a big canvas, but none of them felt right. Eventually I realised that collaborative pixel colouring was the best way to do the collaboration as it allowed anyone, no matter their level of artistic ability, to pitch in on creating something beautiful.
Personally, I was a little unsure of the appeal of color by numbers until I started on this app, but the sense of accomplishment from working on giant art, and the sense of belonging from doing it as a team really made it click for me.
