Hey Product Hunt! My name is Josh and I’m excited to announce the launch of Website Linter, a product that I’ve been working on for the past month. Website Linter is a tool to help you catch errors on your website before customers do. I started Website Linter because I got frustrated with finding website errors that could have been caught earlier if they weren’t so easy to glance over (we all know how code reviews go & it can get fairly easy to glance over simple errors). Some of the easiest but most frustrating errors we encountered were horizontal scrolling issues (imagine going on your phone & scrolling through a website just to have the page scrolling sideways), and spelling errors. Both these errors are frustrating to users, but easy to miss. On top of this, because of my experience working with the Accessibility Designers at Loblaw Digital, I know how easy it is to glance over accessibility issues on a webapp. So I added a section to easily pick up on accessibility issues on your website according to the Web Accessibility Initiative, WACG, that you can fix to give users a better experience. We’ve created Website Linter as a tool that’s free to use, all you need to do is head over to webapp.io, sign-up, and go to Website Linter on the dashboard to get a report for your website OR feel free to check out the features and example reports (click the Get It button). Our goal is to make Website Linter the best reporting tool to find and fix easy-to-miss errors. If you have any recommendations on how we can improve the tool, let us know in the comments! Thanks!
