Nice goals, but... There is nothing here that explains why its better for older people than existing products other than claiming a higher contrast UI... Older people in my life who are not as tech savvy usually have difficulty : - forgetting the password to the password management software - forgetting a password, updating it on a site or app and forgetting to update it in their password manager - not understanding and getting frustrated by passwords being obscured in app, since they are rarely in public places where people are looking over their shoulder while they type passwords - type that is too small on their computer and phone - small icons with no labels that they don't understand what they mean or have difficulty tapping on them. Are you addressing any of these issue? because I assure you that they don't care if you're using firebase or not.

@jaredzimmerman Absolutely second this. This is the answer the Maker gave on Reddit to a similar question: "The difference between us and something like Last Pass is that we're more focused on convenience and accessibility for people who are less tech savvy and who are not likely to change their passwords to HdjaHdhanahsDhsvs$3." I don't see how this is any more or less convenient than LastPass for older people and, I'd personally heavily suggest to this Maker to conduct a ton of user research. I'd expect a lot of Jared's claims above will prove true. With a lot of older folks home because of COVID (them being the actual demo effected by it) there's no better time to try to target them and figure out their pain points. EDIT: Adding the Reddit thread link: https://www.reddit.com/r/UXDesig...

@jaredzimmerman Thanks so much for your feedback! I wasn't quite ready to be hunted but that's alright - soft launch :D Given my research into it, I agree with some of your points, which I'll definitely be addressing in the app :) I'll come to Producthunt to post an update once I've launched the Alpha version! Thanks again

@jaredzimmerman @justin_rockmore Thanks for your feedback Justin! Completely agree user research will be pretty important for this to work for people who are less tech savvy :)

@abram_el_sabagh2 Not trying to be negative, but this kind of project (and the claims on your landing page) seem bizarre if you didn't start this project from a place of research and understanding with your target users. I see so many people wanting to "reinvent X" but what they're really saying is "I want to change the visual design of X" starting a project that could be made obsolescent by the smallest update from an already established player in the space seems like an unwise gamble. If OnePassword and Lastpass change their default passwords generator from "HdjaHdhanahsDhsvs$3" to "correct horse battery staple" then one of your main value props is gone. Those apps are already fully compliant from an accessibility standpoint and they're fully integrated into browsers to autofill, and store new passwords, is yours? You say you are a human centered designer, I'd suggest you START with the humans, not a product concept. Good luck!

I absolutely love your feedback and I agree, there is a fine line between an app that's a tiny upgrade on something existing and could become obsolete quickly and something that's designed to meet people's needs. I'd love to have you as an early user, so we can test it with older people in your life and assess its usefulness. What do you say?
