Organising an event isn't organised. We have conversations everywhere, finding a time is Q&A, and everyone's calendars are out of sync.
The pandemic has made this much worse. Ad-hoc encounters are at their rarest and a heavily scheduled week seems here to stay. Working from the office has even become an event in and of itself.
Calendars and chat should be combined, so we—David, Joel, Rémi, Ryan, & Vince—built Onin 📆 💬.

Interesting! The plan is to become a substitute for [a messenger app] for the specific use case of organising get-togethers? Or will Onin become a complementary platform that can work with Gcal, Facebook events etc.?
@malypetrcom Absolutely, we aim to become the destination for event planning & discussions but we expect you to "bring your own calendar" at first so we're useful day one (we are planning an Onin.me service though that will come with its own benefits 😁)
@malypetrcom We know people already have events in their calendar and don't want them ditch them entirely. Onin aims to play nicely with your existing setup making your experience seamless!🤟
@malypetrcom Great question Filip. You're right on both counts. Onin aims to substitute other messaging channels tailored for organizing get-togethers and it plays nice with gcal, outlook, facebook events and other calendar providers.
