Timeshares for NFTs

Deposit an NFT and get back 12 Timeshares of that NFT – one for each month of the year. TimeshareMonths are themselves ERC721 NFTs, and the months are stored on the ethereum blockchain. The timeshares don't expire, so you can own August of an NFT each year.

What do you think? …

Excited to launch this today! Has been my "dumb fun learn crypto" project for the last little while. NFTs feel nice when they make you feel like you "own" something on the internet. I'm hopeful that something like this can bring down the cost of ownership while preserving the feeling that you own 100% of something (at least for a month). I'm also hopeful that something like this would be useful for sites that gate access based on NFT ownership. For example if you usually only play video games when you're home for the holidays, you could just buy an in-game powerup for December.

This sounds silly but it's actually quite interesting! If you believe that we'll see more utility-based NFTs (e.g. own the NFT to access X), this could be useful.

Totally agree. If you have a tendency to play lots of video games when you’re home for the holidays in December, it might make sense to just own some in-game power up for December. Same could be said of a digital photo frame that only displays what you own. One interesting thing I learned while doing this is for that to work really seamlessly, the application needs to know to look for that extra layer of indirection (who owns this power up? A timeshare -> who’s the current owner?) Def an opportunity for some standardization. A fun project though!

haha agree this is pretty cool!
