Hello!
Thank you for checking out Narrated Guide.
I first made Narrated Guide for myself and my partner. We love the freedom to explore cities on our own schedule, at our own pace and I, myself, really don't like crowds so we never sign up for walking tours but we love to listen to or read all about the history and culture of the location, item, or food. So, being the problem-solver that I am, I made a narrated guide for our trip to Basel. We had a great time using it so I began reaching out to my travel-addicted friends and local tour guides, sharing the idea.
On another trip to Seville with my mum, who speaks fluent English but is much more comfortable with Chinese, there was a real shortage of Chinese-speaking guides / audio guides. So I then added Chinese translations to our narrated guides.
We now have a few guides ready and would love to hear your feedback.
The Basel Guide is free for you to explore: https://www.narratedguide.com/de...
Congratss on launching Narrated Guide! It sounds like a fantastic tool for independent travelers who prefer to explore at their own pace. I'm curious about whether users can contribute their own tips or insights about a location.
@ouyangke Thank you!! That's a great idea! It's been in discussions but not yet implemented. I'll make a note in our feature request list.
I had a similar but slightly more outlandish idea a couple of days ago when we were discussing whether or not to incorporate GPS. If we do, we can also have a "leave a message" feature whereby you can leave a message but only for your friends to see so that when they're in the area, they can be alerted of and see your message.
