Mito is a new type of forum. It behaves in a dynamic way, allows users to easily create anonymous identities, uses cryptocurrency and puts privacy first.
I originally made mito for an engaging discussion experience that fights bias! I also realised that by having a community start off small as its basis could allow for more social cohesion among the group.
At the core of mito, groups have a ‘splitting’ feature where at the end of the self destructing timer that is set at creation, if the group is at capacity with users (e.g 20/20 users) the group will become two evenly split versions with a higher capacity allowing for the diversity of discussion and users streaming from the original group otherwise the group will self destruct.
On the other hand if the group has split enough times, the new group will never die and it will gain the ability to hold groups within itself!
I believe this could lead to exponential growth of a community in interesting and dynamic ways.
I knew I wanted the network to have limited to no likes which lead me to using the finite nature of cryptocurrencies. The life currency of mito is called chromosome(CHX) and is used in the creation of groups and liking/disliking content. Chromosome is mitos label for a cryptocurrency (not bitcoin!) called 'nano' - it is fast!(https://youtu.be/5K8rRISz4RU?t=47). In the future more cryptocurrencies will be added to mito. By using a crypto people can very securely be anonymous and still receive CHX/value for their content.
