Nearly four years ago, I presented you a small time tracking app called Hourly (https://www.producthunt.com/prod...). It began with a simple idea — you could create a task, track its progress, and mark it as complete when finished. That’s all there was to it. With time, you would start to grasp how much time certain activities required. It was a way to understand yourself better. Hourly proved to be helpful for many people in this regard, and I truly appreciated that.
Now, I'd like to present to you another app that I've designed — Mind. This application is just as straightforward: it consists of a couple of buttons and text, seemingly nothing extraordinary. Some might refer to it as affirmations, self-persuasion, or even daydreaming. Personally, I think it's all about belief.
Prior to this, my whole knowledge of affirmations stemmed primarily from movies. In those scenes, a person would put on headphones and listen to peculiar phrases that they repeated occasionally. It seemed like a rather odd ritual.
However, my perspective on this has changed. I've come to understand it through my work, my involvement in sports, and my interactions with people. As you decide, so shall it be. When you make a decision to pursue something, there will undoubtedly be numerous individuals who will dismiss it as unattainable or impossible, questioning why you're even bothering. Nevertheless, if you possess self-assurance, you will persevere. You will persist despite their doubts.
This app serves to reinforce that mindset. Much like a best friend or coach, telling us: you can do it, the placebo effect, articulating our desires and visualizing our goals within our minds are crucial steps that enable us to take action.
Allow me to emphasize this point: Mind alone will not change your life. It merely represents the initial stride on a lengthy and challenging journey. However, it is worth it. Without taking that first step, progress cannot be made.
Give it a try, alter the habits you wish to change, and do the thing.
