@candouss congrats, I'm always telling people they need to clean their audio more, as an audio engineer, that's personally my focus. However, one question I ask, do you allow them to pay more for more time? 75mb of audio is virtually nothing. Let's look at the #s, CD quality audio is 44.1k/16-bit, a 1hr CD is about 615mb, give or take 10/20mb which would be dependent on various other settings when recording/outputting. That is uncompressed audio. If you compress the audio on upload, its about 58-70mb. But that means then you're working with an already degraded audio source. And I imagine the only way you can generate value for yourselves as a company is to return the audio in mp3 format, not wav as wav would require more memory. For the math heads: Where I got the 1hr of CD audio at roughly 615mb (give or take) is as follows: sample rate x bit depth x channels x time(seconds) 44,100 x 16 x 2 x 3600 = 5,080,320,000 bits > convert to MB > 5,080,320,000 bits / 8x1024x1024 = 609.76mb (I was off, but I did say give or take). 1024 is the # of KB in a single mb, 8 is the # of bits in a byte. So the division by 8 converts the bits to bytes, and by 1024x1024 to convert bytes to megabytes. The length of an audio file that is 75 MB in size depends on various factors, including the audio format, bit rate, and sample rate. Here's a general guideline to give you an idea: MP3 Format: A common bit rate for MP3 files is 128 kbps (kilobits per second). To find out how many seconds of audio you'd get with 75 MB, you'd first convert the size to kilobits: \(75 \times 1024 \times 8 = 614,400 \text{ kilobits}\). Then, you'd divide by the bit rate: \(614,400 \text{ kbps} / 128 \text{ kbps} = 4800 \text{ seconds}\), or 80 minutes. WAV Format: This is a lossless format and usually has a bit rate of 1411 kbps. Using the same calculation method, \(75 \times 1024 \times 8 = 614,400 \text{ kilobits}\). Then \(614,400 \text{ kbps} / 1411 \text{ kbps} = 435.5 \text{ seconds}\), or about 7.26 minutes. AAC Format: This format can have various bit rates, but a common one is 256 kbps. Using the same calculation, \(75 \times 1024 \times 8 = 614,400 \text{ kilobits}\). Then \(614,400 \text{ kbps} / 256 \text{ kbps} = 2400 \text{ seconds}\), or 40 minutes.

@mogabr Hi Gabe, thank you for the insights, I really appreciate your challenging thoughts as they allow us to address some important points that may have been left out of the conversation or unclear in the website. First of all, I agree with you about the sizes of uncompressed and consequently, quality audio. But I see the app use cases as far more simple and punctual then uploading a full album of 610mb at once. Sure, apart from the audio engineering stand point, we also have other web dev considerations and limitations that helped us to make that 75mb call at the same time try to accommodate the greatest quantity of use cases possible, some of them are: - The app is meant to master one track at a time, not a full album. Following your example, if your album of 610mb of high quality uncompressed audio in WAV has 10 tracks of 6 minutes, each one would have an avg of 61mb which is inside the tool limits. - Contrary to your hypothesis of using MP3 to make the project feasible as a company, we detect the audio format used, process it, store it, and return it in its native format. Yes, WAV is way heavier than mp3 and it costs me more for storage and processing using GPUs but it only corroborates with the above use case of allowing 75mb at a time for a single track. Even if we allowed the upload of the 610mb, the cost to store 1gb of data in a hot storage is around $0.023 per GB more transfer costs. This without counting the fact that all of the processed audio is deleted after a certain period. So NO, this does not make a company unviable. - By setting up a limit, we can process a track way more quickly, allowing us to 'spit out' a result in a matter of few minutes and keep some anxious users happy (I'm one of those). In conclusion, I wouldn't expect to be able to master a whole album at once in mere minutes and paying a few dollars, this sounds ingenuous to me. I'm pretty convinced that we offer a quick and cheap solution that otherwise would cost hundreds or thousands of dollars for days of work, while delivering it in a few minutes. It's a win/win situation.

@candouss thank you for responding, I wish you the best, I do think it’s a novel idea.

Congrats on the launch! It's so refreshing to have a straightforward tool that doesn't require deep expertise or long sign-up processes. I've worked with other audio mastering software in the past, but the AI magic in this app truly stands out🔥

@maksim_mamchur Wooo! What prompt was this gen'd with? Great how it always ties in the emoji. Wondering if it chooses for each product.
Candous
@maksim_mamchur Thanks for taking the time to test the tool, Maksim. Making the process easy and accessible to everyone was one of my primary goals, and it is thrilling to see it resonates with users like you. As a software developer and a audio engineer myself, I strive to make this tool as good as if you were having access to the best engineers in the industry and I am really pleased with the results to be honest. Hope you have fun trying new things with Mastermallow. Please let me know if you got your first track for free, otherwise I can send you the result 'on the house'.

Congrats on the launch! Looks awesome. The landing is very clean, concise, branded super well. Kudos to your designer. I was going to send this to a few friends but had some questions: 1. I am confused by the pricing. What is the $18 for? Access? I see some type of credit system but I'm not super clear on it. 2. Would this be good for YouTubers? Thanks so much! Huge congrats on the launch!
Candous
@esus Hey Esus, glad you liked the cleanliness of the website, I was the designer for this one too (lol, I'm becoming such a loner). Concerning your questions: 1- The pricing is per track: the app will create a sample of your track with a side by side comparison so you can listen to the result before deciding to download it. The idea behind this is the fact that you can try it and buy only if you like the results. About the access, you don't need an account to use the app, it asks for an email so we can avoid some abuse but it's pretty straight forward, upload > listen > download, no account, no subscriptions. If you are a heavy user you can signup for our newsletter and pick a paid plan that includes unlimited mastering sessions. 2- Yes! Youtubers and podcasters are becoming somehow our audience since this is a huge market atm. I had a YCombinator podcast remastered, you can listen to it on our SoundCloud profile: https://soundcloud.com/mastermallow Hope it helps you. Raph
