👋 Hello hunters and fellow builders!
I’m Darryl, co-founder of LFG together with Shi Hong and Yuko.
We, a couple of uni friends, have been building LFG to help travellers explore new places, discover hidden gems, and plan your next adventure - and we’re super excited to share it today with the Product Hunt community!
💡 How we founded LFG?
My co-founders, Yuko, Shi Hong, and I, met during our university exchange program in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
Our idea for LFG sprouted when we went on a last-minute, spontaneous trip to Đà Nẵng one weekend together. Like most foreign souls entering local lands seeking new adventures, we didn't know what to do, where to go, and honestly speaking… couldn't be bothered with planning.
Sometimes, you just wish you had that one local friend or maybe friends who've visited before, so they can give you their recommendations. How often do you really know who's been where or who to reach out to - even if they happen to have a Google Maps list to share?
While planning, you'll probably send and receive a bunch of screenshots of places you want to go from Google or Instagram, some TikTok links, or even iPhone notes with not much details.
And this is why we built LFG. Our mission is simple: to socialize travel discovery and recommendations. We're building a platform where friends and a community of travelers can easily discover, curate, and share their must-go places, wishlists, or newly found gems.
❓What is LFG, you ask?
LFG is like a Spotify for travel, allowing you to discover, curate and share your own 'Placelists' – think curated playlists, but for your favorite places! Whether it’s “Best Brunch Spots”, “Favorite Cafes to Work In” or “Perfect Date Night Spots”, you can organize and categorize your travel recommendations based on themes, interests, or even specific cities.

1. Discover recommendations from fellow explorers: We're all about socializing travel discovery. You can explore public Placelists created by us or other travellers, uncovering their favorite spots and hidden gems.
2. Organize and share your travel wisdom: You can curate your own Placelists and share your travel wisdom with the world. Whether you're a foodie, adventure seeker, a straight-up tourist, or all of the above, LFG is your canvas to showcase your favorite places and experiences. #nogatekeeping

This is our first public product launch and we are open to any feedback from the community! We are young and have much to grow, but we hope to build a community of travel enthusiasts sharing their personal gems and must-visit spots around the world. Thank you! :)

Idea for the name came about from our spontaneous, last minute trip planning. Hence, #lfg !
