Billing is a core topic for lots of companies. I'm used to work with in-house systems to tackle the specifics of complex activities (telecom is a tough playground!) and never found an appropriate third party solution... until Lago. At first, what interested me was the way the product is built with a well thought modeling of usage costs. Then I discovered and liked the people behind it, the community and the open source project that is pretty inspiring.
