Konbini is a universal ecommerce API that aims to abstract every ecommerce platform behind a single, high-quality API, and make it easy to write ecommerce apps and integrations that aren’t tied to a single platform.

Hi, Product Hunt! Konbini is a one-man project I’ve been working on for the better part of the year, and I’m super excited to finally be able to launch it. At its core, Konbini is a universal ecommerce API that lets you connect to stores based on any of our supported platforms (like Shopify, WooCommerce or Magento) using a single, developer-friendly, platform-neutral API. If you’re familiar with Plaid, then describing Konbini’s goal is super simple, if ambitious — we’re trying to do for ecommerce what Plaid did for banking. To put it another way, Konbini’s ultimate mission is to give developers and businesses a better way to work with ecommerce platforms than they’ve had at their disposal until now. As I’m sure those of you who’ve built apps and integrations for ecommerce platforms know all too well, people looking to build these types of products have traditionally had two major ways to go about it: - Go all-in on targeting a single platform — like Shopify — and reap the benefits of deep integration, but also suffer the consequences of only having access to one segment of the market, as well as the risks potentially involved in relying on the good graces of a single platform. - Spend weeks, months, or years building integrations with as many different platforms as they can reasonably justify. On top of that, even though every major ecommerce platform now offers at least a basic API, many of these can be… challenging to work with, and to write truly robust integration code for. Konbini hopes to solve all of these problems by abstracting a multitude of platforms behind a single, meticulously-designed API, and letting developers focus on their application code, rather than the idiosyncrasies of each platform they'd like to support. Today, Konbini is launching with support for Shopify, WooCommerce and Magento (Adobe Commerce), and the first thing we’re going to focus on post-launch is adding support for more platforms.
