I always ignore keyboard apps no matter how useful they look... for the sole reason that I hate changing between them when writing a message... clunky and annoying!
@istarchenkov - where does the translation come from and how accurate is it?
When is the quality compromised...e.g. 5 sentences, 10 sentences etc?
How do you tackle grammar issues especially with languages such as English vs Mandarin?
@bentossell It is not actually just a keyboard with translation service now - we built it as primary keyboard for iOS, I use it as my primary kb and it's fully cover my needs (as well as many of our users do), so you don't need to switch between keyboards, because we encapsulate most languages and fast emoji module accessible by swipe. For now we bring following modules:
- Predictive input with fast values (such as your email, phone number, more values will come soon as well as geo location, you can insert this values just by tap);
- Translation in both ways, you can translate text you wrote and translate anytext by coping it in clipboard. For now we use Yandex translation service for this (probably it will be removed by Google translate in closest future), most languages works well, but unfortunately I can't be sure about all cases. We listen our users and trying to do our best;
- And we have wikipedia, allows you to read short articles right in keyboard (useful if you have no idea about anything, o need quick search).
We are working now on better autocorrection and grammar functions, actually it's our weakness against native keyboard. And we don't have Mandarin as well as any dialect of Chinese, because it's too hard to implement this for us now.
More functions will be available soon, suggestions are welcome.
@istarchenkov@bentossell Its probably a good idea if you have some sort of warning someplace about accuracy. Certain language combinations are going to be better than others. I use Google Translate often for English <->Japanese for example, and its okay for a "first cut" but can still be wildly wrong at times.
