JustRecap transforms videos into clear, digestible articles, enabling active learning from talks, lectures, podcasts, and interviews. It's not just summarising—it's about understanding more in less time.
Hello Product Hunt 👋
I'm Libo, maker of JustRecap.
Following a year-plus of crafting and refining with input from thousands of early users, I'm thrilled to introduce JustRecap to the Product Hunt community.
🙋 Why turn videos into articles?
Well, efficiency.
Our eyes are trained to scan information rapidly. Skimming through lines and snapshots in a glance—this method shrinks viewing time to a mere fraction.
✨ What sets JustRecap apart?
This isn't just another summary tool. My "recap" approach preserves the essence of the original content for swift scanning. It shines with content rich in critical details, like educational lectures and in-depth talks.
JustRecap also enables you to:
- 📷 Capture essential screenshots like slides. Visuals are key—think charts, diagrams, even non-verbal cues.
- 🐡 Go in-depth on demand. Find the hidden depths with an interactive click.
- 🍭 Enjoy the simplicity. Provide a video link—we handle the rest. No transcript? No worries. You can even upload videos for JustRecap's magic touch.
🥸 I started JustRecap to Scratch My Own Itch ™
I wanted to keep up with updates from talks at conferences like ElixirConf and DevCon. But there are hundreds of them. Some are interesting, some not for me, and some may contain just 5 minutes of really useful insights. I needed something to "unpack" videos for me, so I built it.
🦉 Who it’s for?
- Students/educators
- Researchers
- Content producers
- All lifelong learners

Dear Mr Libo,
I hope this message finds you well.
I’m Michelle, Business Development at Orenji Studio.
I want to introduce Orenji Studio, Indonesia's design service starting in 2020 with a small team of 10 members. Since our launch, our job has been about Product Design, Digital Branding, Creative Illustration, and Motion Design.
What makes us unique:
- Small design team to focus more and faster to raise your brand and product.
- You'll be invited to our Figma, so we can always collaborate and discuss the project.
- Unlimited requests and revisions to perfect the work!
Some of our clients include:
Opaper, Pawsh, Jakpat, GoDaddy, WiiWoo, Mealmates, Motion Circles, etc. We think that we can help your team shortly, and we would like to invite you for a further conversation with our team. If the your team has time this week, can we set up a Google Meet to discuss this collaboration? Please don't hesitate to contact me through this email or WhatsApp (6285886641187).
Warm Regards,
Michelle Maharani
@pgpreston2 Yeah, like tech talks, interviews, and lectures. Speeches are usually very fluid, thus naturally hard for skimming. JustRecap wants to distill the structures to help the readers.
This is such a cool tool! Especially for less structured video content like podcasts/talks that are really hard to skim. I imagine this would also be super helpful for students revising pre-recorded lectures etc (I remember finding it *so* easy to zone out during 2+ hour talks haha so having a way to review the content in a structured and digestible way would've been a lifesaver!)
Congratulations on the launch!
@isabelle_fahey Haha, yeah, zoning out is a sign of passive consuming. The format JustRecap provide makes active learning much more easier! That would be game changer for learning from videos. Thanks for you comment :)
