Create board game rules and covers with machine learning

At Generative Boargames you simply come up with the name of a fictional game that you’d like to play, press • bling! • and our AI generates the rules and the box art for the game. Share your game with our community, or download and play it with friends.
Hi everyone
Have you ever tried playing a board game called “Github Repository” or “Is this the cheese you mentioned?” Well we hadn’t either, but we also didn’t have the time to make the games ourselves. So our solution was to train a neural network on 2000 board game rules and 15000 board game covers, and create a website that does all (or at least some) of the work for us.
Generativeboard.games takes a title of a made up board game as an input, and uses this to create a the rules and cover for a new game. If you create a game you like, you can share it with the community, as well as downloading and printing its rule book.
Board games (and their rules) are an engaging way to interact with machine learning models, since trying to play a game requires you to try to immerse yourself in the artificial (and often non-existent) logic of the machine. We think it is a bit like a fun back and forth conversation, where hopefully you will come out the other side with a great game and better understanding of the strengths and limitations of machine learning.
Next step for us will be finding our favourite game and making it into a real physical box.
We would love to hear your thoughts, and see what games you come up with!
This is honestly one of the most amazing gaming related things I have seen for a while.
I can't believe no one came up with this yet!
Can't wait to play "If You Win, You Lose".
I hope this project really takes off! You could easily be the next AI Dungeon caliber developers.
Hey @dawny thanks for the time to write us back. It's really moving to see people like you engaged with our creation — even at such an early stage.
On being the next AI Dungeon: Let's see how it goes, you really raised the bar in that last sentence haha ;)
