This is a little project born out of nostalgia and love for this era of Mac OS X design — I've always been a big fan of these space themed default wallpapers and wanted to bring them up to speed with modern displays.
Hi friends — for this project I tracked down original versions of the wallpapers, upscaled them using Machine Learning, applied a P3 color space, Machine Learning to de-noise, and then manually tweaked them to more closely match how I remembered them. It's not perfect, but this was the best I could do, I hope some of you can enjoy them!

Now if someone could just get me one of those amazing new mac screens to really get the benefits. :)
@between_team same! The first pass was using Pixelmator's Machine Learning upscale — after that it was a manual process of sharpening the highlights in the stars for example, softening some of the light gradients etc…
