@nassaraf I find it hilarious that β“’β“£β“β“β““β“žβ“€β“£ is totally unreadable in your comment

testing β“’β“£β“β“β““β“žβ“€β“£

@realdeanward LOL you're right, but not for the reason you think! You get a heavier font weight when you reply on @ProductHunt vs an initial comment. Looks awesome in email too! πŸ‘‰ https://www.cloudhq.net/c/b60e74...

@nassaraf Not really. I think it looks terrible personally. I would probably immediately assume such a message is spam. Do you have any data to suggest people actual open these emails faster?
Ariel
Omg, that's bad idea for normal email user.
Julien
@ariel_jedrzejczak When I see e-mails with headlines like this, they go right into my spam folder
Hunter Trujillo
@ariel_jedrzejczak @j_____________n Yep, it also presents a major accessibility issue for those who need screen readers to use a computer. A great Chrome extension would be one that automatically reports any email using unreadable text like this as spam, because, only spammers do this.
Naomi Assaraf πŸ”₯
@ariel_jedrzejczak Can you explain why? πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ I use it to communicate something urgent to my employees. It stands out immediately, and that's the exact point of this extension. @j_____________n Hi Julien! What would you do to make your emails stand out? This is just an option that we're providing you, but it sounds like you have a better way? @hunter_trujillo Hey Hunter, You're absolutely right! Accessibility is really important to us. We're heads down on a workaround right now so that screen readers will be able to translate what's being written and it should be live within a week (a beta version will be done by tomorrow!) 😊
Julien
@ariel_jedrzejczak @hunter_trujillo @nassaraf I'll try to add some contructive criticism: it's a practice that's been used by spammers and scammers for years now, so my immediate reaction to seeing those is: this is fake / a scam / spam. I believe that you have more open rates, but do they convert? You should not have to resort to tricks for people to open your e-mail. It's like people who think that adding "Urgent" to their e-mail subjects will make me want to open it more, when it's having the exact opposite effect.

kinda of reminds me of all unopened emails in my junk folder β€Ύ\_(ツ)_/β€Ύ
Naomi Assaraf πŸ”₯
@antonio_bologna Oh no! Not our intention at all! It's kind of like emojis being used in the email subject line... some people love it 😻(guess which camp I'm in 😏) , and some don't. To each their own. But please LMK if you have any ideas to help stand out in an email that is more obvious (and preferably more accessible for people across language barriers). We try to release a new Chrome extension at least 2x a month, if not each week when we're on a roll (!!), so you might be the person who gives us the next golden idea! I'm all ears πŸ‘‚πŸ½ and my dev team is ready to build! πŸ’ͺ🏽
