One question I have is about minimizing the ecological or carbon footprint of the service. There are a few different studies showing the carbon footprint of streaming video, and I worry that if more people stream video while they work on FocusMate, it will exacerbate the issue. What are you doing to address this aspect or reduce the amount of data required to run FocusMate? For example, would you ever consider doing a "low-fi" eco option? I find that I often make the video small on my computer so I can see my work... so we don't need a ton of detail in the video itself. Other than this concern, I'm a happy FocusMate customer and get a lot of value in pair-working with people!
I find Focusmate to be a fantastic productivity tool, truly revolutionizing the way I maintain focus and complete tasks, and its collaborative element adds a fun, social aspect to work! 😊
Focusmate is the first, cheapest, largest, and still the best body doubling matching program that I can find anywhere on the planet. It even has free options. They have made the world a much better place. If this company does not qualify as a B company (good for customers, the environment, and its employees), it should be! I would buy their stock if I could.
Pros: - So easy to use. I've clocked 1,300 sessions on Focusmate now! - It got me through university and beyond. The power of having someone there for accountability is truly astonishing! - It's my favourite focus app. It's made for neurodivergent / ADHD folk, but works so well for everyone who is seeking to get a little more out of their day. - A wonderful place to work (when I interned there) - they are truly building something great. Cons: - Sometimes new features are slow to release, but the product is great as it is!
co-working helps me be productive & i love that i can re-book with previous co-working partners
