Hi Everyone👋,
George from Finisher here. I live in San Francisco (still😊) and have worked in both design and engineering roles in the past decade.
My own problem of having to manage software releases in my old job led me to building Finisher. A release is not merely an engineering task. In our case it involved 15 people from 4 departments. I wanted to visualize the process so we knew exactly what stage of the release we were at, who's doing what and when and how the individual tasks depend on each other.
This flow is something we had on a whiteboard, but I needed an actionable visual clickable workflow I could run with each release, share on Slack and have people update as they work on their tasks. A workflow like this one:

We put a special emphasis on simplicity, ease of use and visual appearance of the workflow and the product as a whole.
Software releases were the original motivation, but frankly it's amazing to watch what workflows and use cases our customers come up with. Some of our customers have built workflows that run over the course of weeks, consist of over 100 tasks and involve up to 25 people -- this is exactly why we built Finisher and we are very proud of these complex use cases.
As of today our top use cases are the following:
💻 Software releases (coordinating various parts of the release between teams -- engineering, marketing, sales, support)
🚧 Streamlining manufacturing workflows from ordering raw materials to product assembly to shipping the product to the customer
👩🚀 On-boarding employees
📦 Order processing

I think, I was one of the first customers that tried Finisher, and I want to say something. Guys you make life much easier, deployment processes on one of my project after we start using Finisher was simplified and clear, everyone in the team knows what to do, and when. and we bought a year subscription of-course, and still actively using Finisher.
Good luck guys with project!
