Hey everyone, I'm the design lead at Fasterbids, a Seattle-based startup that is transforming the LBM sales industry with software for creating modular, fully-editable bids for contractors and building material buyers. For those who don't know, it can currently take as much as two weeks to get a rough estimate on pricing for large orders or lumber and other building materials from various manufacturers. LBM sales staff at many major chains and local lumberyards are still using paper catalogs from various manufacturers to put together order bids. This slows down the construction process for everyone involved– contractors, foreman, building-material buyers, real-estate developers, investors, etc. Fasterbids changes all this by bringing LBM sales into the 21st century. Think of it as Expedia for lumber and building materials.
