Crypto Corgis are adorable NFT collectibles on the Ethereum blockchain. A new unique corgi becomes available every block, and remains available for 256 blocks. Only 10,000 corgis can be claimed in total.

No offense - honest question: how can you justify the damage that NFTs do to the earth for something so silly?

@school_4_ants There's a lot of anti-crypto rhetoric, a lot of it centred around it's negative impact on the environment which, don't get me wrong, is totally valid – However I believe is misplaced. I see it as a very effective PR campaign for non-renewable energy manufacturers - It shifts the burden away from the manufacturers (the root cause), and places it on the consumer. If we were using 100% renewable energy, the energy consumption wouldn't be an issue. The argument shouldn't be "Why use NFT's, they use so much energy" it should be "Why aren't energy companies supporting this demand in a renewable way?".

Get a grip and quit thinking NFT's are ruining the environment as much as literally most of the industries that keep the world running. What a joke😂

Hi everyone 👋🏼, I worked on Crypto Corgis as part of ETHGlobal's NFT hackathon and was one of the finalists (you can see the presentation here to learn more https://youtu.be/dPa3UsuTAsw?t=1569). If you've ever heard of CryptoPunks, or CryptoKitties, the concept is similar. Since then the corgi community has grown a ton, with a lot of happy doggo owners. As far as generative NFT art goes, the concept is pretty unique because the final collection (max 10,000 corgis) is entirely determined by the community of owners and not up-front, as there are about 4000 trillion possible corgis. The idea of them "being born" and "dying" is also unique to this project.
