Hello! This is the first time I've hunted my own product 😬 I've been writing for startups for the last 10 years. Four years ago, I went freelance and noticed most startups don't have a style guide - a document that outlines the company's communication style. So before starting any work, I'd have to create a style guide for them. This was time-consuming and expensive for them. Around this time last year, I wondered if I'd be able to standardise the process and create a tool that helped them identify their own tone of voice and generate a suitable style guide I could use. After much time researching, conducting user testing and grappling with ChatGPT to help me code (I can't code), it all came together and I launched CopyStyleGuide.com in July 2023. Since then, I've had some great feedback from startup founders (and, interestingly, agency owners) who've found the guides helpful.
