Keep your community alive and provide value via automated networking events in your Discord server. Automated scheduling, partner matching, and voice channel assignments.
Thank you for checking out my launch!
I built this because my journey of becoming an entrepreneur has been extremely isolating. I decided to join a few Discord servers geared towards tech entrepreneurs, but found they were either dead, or full of spam and scams.
CoffeeChat Bot solves my issues with Discord: I hate monitoring text channels all day, and I hate when voice channels are too full to make a real connection with others.
You can set up an event with just a few short steps:
1. Log into coffeechatbot.app with Discord
2. Add the bot to your server via our UI
3. Create an event in our UI
4. Thats it! Just show up to the voice channel when the event starts, and the Discord bot handles the rest.
If you think this is a cool project, but don't have a Discord server yourself, I'd love for you to join https://startupchats.willness.dev. I am running my own networking chats twice a week, geared towards tech entrepeneurs. Join for a 15 minute 1on1 chat with a random entrepreneur!
- Every Tuesday at 9AM PST
- Every Sunday at 5PM PST
Features right now:
- Dashboard to add bot, set up events
- Integration with Discord Scheduled Events (handles registration, calendar integration, push notifications)
- Creates lobby voice channel
- Bot reads out instructions to participants
- Distributes users between voice channels, using history based matchmaking (prioritizing matching users who haven't been matched before)
- Supports multiple rounds (think speed dating, but for networking)
- Dashboard has data and metrics (+ export) for each event
I was also thinking whether something like this could make sense for Slack (but then realised that some people want to spend as little time as possible in work channels). 😀 so I like this Discord version as the primary channel. :)
@busmark_w_nika I'd like to attempt building a Slack version someday, but it'd require a bit of a different take on implementation since Discord servers and Slack workspaces function quite differently.
I also agree that most people on Slack want to minimize their time on the platform, whereas Discord users are there to spend time 😅
@n3s_online I think that Slack could work but maybe not within work groups but for community B2B groups – I know there are some companies hosting their customers on Slack.
Automating meaningful interactions right inside Discord is such a smart way to keep communities active and engaged. Makes networking feel effortless and way more fun.
