Coalition App (https://www.coalitionnetwork.org) is a global, privacy-by-design contact tracing app to help stop the spread of COVID-19. It uses secure Bluetooth tech and cryptography to alert you if you've potentially come in contact with an infected user.
Coalition is a global privacy-first contact tracing app to help stop the spread of COVID-19.
As a rapid early warning system to notify users of potential exposure to COVID-19, if a user declares that they are experiencing symptoms or have tested positive for COVID-19, their phone then can anonymously inform all other phones that have been in its proximity over an extended period of time during the prior 2 weeks.
The Coalition App uses privacy-by-design, leveraging secure Bluetooth and cryptography to keep your information anonymous by default. Your PII (Personable Identifiable Information) isn't shared with anyone without your permission.
What is Contact Tracing?
- Contact Tracing is the detective work health officials do manually to interview those infected as to who they may have come in contact with. Unfortunately this can be painstakingly slow, patients experience memory gaps, and the virus is too widespread to scale this properly
- Digital Contact Tracing on the other hand has the ability to speed up and scale this process, BUT there are serious concerns around the invasion of privacy and whether it can scale globally.
Why is it Urgently Need?
- We the people must move FASTER and more efficiently to contain the virus in order to slow the spread and start to reopen society.
- To do so, we need a global COALITION of citizens to do their part in notifying each other when they are infected. But only in a way that protects our privacy from being abused.
- In the US, a Harvard study reported that we likely need 100 million tests per day to stop the spread. Today we administer only 150,000 on average. But with contact tracing apps, we could likely lower the number of tests needed to 5 - 10 million. Source: https://ethics.harvard.edu/files...
Why Our Team?
We are the team behind the largest, most secure Bluetooth-enabled IoT network in the world (Nodle.io) and the creators of FireChat, the peer-to-peer Bluetooth communications app that allowed for secure messaging during internet shutdowns; notably used by hundreds of thousands of students to organize the pro-Democracy Hong Kong Umbrella Revolution in 2014, as well as during the Kashmir and Chenai Floods in 2015 when there was no internet access.
Coaliton’s white paper has been reviewed by peers and cryptographers at MIT, Stanford, USC and Oxford https://docsend.com/view/nis3dac and endorsed by medical experts from Georgetown University Medical Center and Boston University.
The app is now available on the Google Play Store and pending release on iOS.
Coalition additionally offers critical solutions for populations without access to smartphones.
