What do you think? …

Kunal Bhatia
I’ve always thought about what impact my designs have on the world (positive and negative). IDEO and the Ellen MacArthur Foundation have put together a toolkit that extends design thinking for this exact purpose. How can you design “products, services, and businesses that [are] good for the people, the planet, and business?” Compared to the current linear model of “take, make, dispose,” the Circular Economy is a closed-loop model that encourages you to redesign everything in a restorative and regenerative way. The guide was created to help innovators create more elegant, effect, and creative solutions for the circular economy. I just started digging into the mindset, but the team has put out great methods, videos, and case studies to help you get started.

@kunalslab I'm a HUGE fan of IDEO and I like to keep their philosophy in mind whenever I work on new projects. This is a really cool way to turn the process into more of a "flywheel".

@kunalslab Hey Kunal! From the team at the Ellen MacArthur Foundation and IDEO, we're really grateful to you for sharing the Circular Design Guide on Product Hunt. We're proud of this first iteration, and hope that it addresses not just a knowledge gap on the circular economy, but a creative gap too. The Circular Design Guide should be a starting point to ask new questions about the way in which today's businesses create value. You'll see from the case studies section of the website that there are many businesses out there that are already asking these questions. These pioneers are unlocking new competitive advantage, as well as benefits for their customers, ecosystems and the wider economy. This resource makes it easier for others to get started and join them. As you mention Kunal, the circular economy is a model that is restorative and regenerative by design. Instead of asking people just to 'do less' and make less of an impact, it challenges people to do more and have a huge impact - but one that enables positive abundance. We'd love to hear people's feedback on what we've created, here on PH or via feedback@circulardesignguide.com.
