Copy text with one tap on Chibaku, the web app that lets you save links, code snippets, emails, etc so that you can copy them with a single click for future use. Forget ctrl/cmd + c or long pressing on your phone to copy text - we are making it faster.
The idea behind creating Chibaku started four years ago when I saw a professional I respect a lot use Notepad to copy and paste the Indian Rupee sign (₹) for product listings.
I believe it was in 1973 that copy paste was made available; after almost 50 years, the way we copy text is either ctrl/cmd + c for desktops, or long pressing text and then selecting the copy option.
We wanted to make it faster. We wanted to make it one tap. ☝
On Chibaku, you can create boards for different types of text you are using on a daily basis - hashtags, links to products, etc.
Inside these boards, you can add text and they are available as cards.
With one tap, you can copy text.
With a double tap, you can edit your text.
This makes it faster to copy text and send it across. By a few seconds, yes, but the goal for me has been to make things happen quickly.
Talking of goals, @parik36 helped me create this platform - I am grateful for the monumental effort he has put in to make it function well on mobile and desktop.
@aavinashta helped me in the early stages to ensure a better user experience.
It brings me great joy to bring Chibaku to you, and I hope you guys use it to discover a new way of copying text.
If all goes well, we will have mobile apps for the same. Fingers crossed.
Chibaku replaces the multi-decade old method of copying text using ⌘+C to copy text everywhere.
Chibaku lets you copy text and store them in "cards". Simply tap on a card to get your text copied. You can also group multiple cards into "boards" for ease-of-use.
If you are a developer and have a code snippet you always copy, Chibaku can help you. If you are a designer and have a color code you always copy, Chibaku can help you.
