This is Mattias working with BRIS a Swedish non-profit organization that runs a national helpline for kids. Last year we created a set of symbols called Abused Emojis to encourage children to express their feelings. Today, we're incredibly excited to announce a Brisbot — a chat bot to help out troubled kids directly in Kik and Facebook messenger.
We believe that no matter what the problem is, talking to someone is always a good start. But children don’t communicate the way grown-ups do and some hesitate to call the BRIS helpline for support. Brisbot prepares kids for real-life conversations. So if you need to get something off your chest Brisbot makes it easier to get started.
Every day we BRIS are in touch with hundreds of kids through phone, chat and mail conversation. Brisbot is a complement to the regular support we provide through our helplines. It’s similar to an ordinary chat, but instead of writing yourself you choose subjects and get answers written by our professional counselors. We're currently working on a free-text function which we will release as soon as we've gained enough test data from this version.
