Pros: This Twitter-like app offers the significant advantage of being open-source and decentralized, fostering a community-driven approach to social networking. Its commitment to transparency and user empowerment is commendable. Cons: One limitation to note is its 300-character per post restriction for those users that are only using the bsky.app. While this may encourage concise communication, it could also feel restrictive for users accustomed to longer-form content such as with Twitter premium. Overall, it's a promising platform with a focus on user privacy and community collaboration.
I've fled from Twitter (yes “X” if you like 🙄) since EM decided to make it what it is, to take refuge on BlueSky. t I admit it's a haven of peace compared to the other network. It has practically all the features I used to use, but bookmarks are especially lacking. So 4 stars now and 5 when they will implement bookmark 😁
I've found the app nice, simple, clean, and the people on the service have been of mostly good quality. Not like other experiences with other similar services. Is looking hopeful.
Welcome to Twitter Circa 2012, where NEW technology leaders can build an organic community of REAL PEOPLE. Don’t believe me? If you are a member of the BIPOC, go check out the BlackSky feed.
Finally. Twitter turning to X, or new 4chan, left us with Threads, which never fixed the stuff that was as problem from the start. It just works. It's not that hard of a thing to do. Just make something that does what twitter did before Elon got there. Took a while but seems like Bluesky did it.
I just can't see what makes it different from Twitter or X, it's just ... boring. I wish I could find something else. The open source aspect does not make it better or different for most users.
Genuinely great social media, super great engagement and interactions.
