AudioWrangler automatically switches to user's preferred microphone and speakers based on what is currently connected and a user-specified priority list of devices.
Hi Product Hunt! Like many of you, I felt like I lived on Zoom during the pandemic. My days frequently started out by connecting to a call, only to realize that macOS set my sound output to my monitor's muted speakers when it awoke from sleep. So I'd have to ask people to repeat themselves more often than I wanted. This led me to create AudioWrangler.
AudioWrangler is for Mac users who have several audio devices, and/or work from different locations. Users first prioritize their input and output devices by preference (e.g. "if my BT headphones are connected use those, otherwise use the internal speakers"). Then, upon waking from sleep or connecting/disconnecting audio devices, AudioWrangler uses that prioritization to select the best device available. You can override it at any time, as well. Alongside the automatic switching, I also added a feature to mute your input device using a system-wide hotkey, which is great for fans of the keyboard.
Thanks for taking the time to read this and check out AudioWrangler!
Really impressive idea! Would it be okay to include your product in my directory (URL: producthunt.com/products/wikiaitools). Take a look and let me know which category fits - I'm sure others would love to discover your product too!e
@carter_wang Thanks for the comment, but my app doesn't use AI at all. If it did, users couldn't depend on it to make the right choice in every case. So I'm not sure it fits in your directory.
@chrismessina First I've heard of AirBuddy, TBH. It looks like a similar product with more config required to accomplish what AW does out of the box. (AirBuddy also does a lot of other things too.)
@mattgreenrocks totally. AirBuddy has a lot going on, so nice to see another entrant in the space! Was just surprised about the framing as "missing" app when AirBuddy has been out for a few years. 😬
