Congrats @ilan and team! The best parts of async.com for me are:
1) A focus on making asyncs easy to receive/consume
2) A rich landing page for my async URL
3) As simple & easy as possible to use for me to talk with people OUTSIDE of my company (clients, investors, etc) - many of whom will be 1st time users.
These are the keys to success AFAICT, and async.com is off to a strong start.
I thought Async was great, but then I read the terms & conditions as well as the privacy policy. Virtually nothing you do on this app is off limits for what is allowed in the company's collection, use, and/or sale (sometimes called "sharing"). Any message you receive ought to be considered 0% private. This reservation of rights to the collection, sale, and use of user data (including all messages/voice memos) is unduly overbroad and ought to be more obvious rather than tucked away in lengthy legal documents. This is a shame because the app otherwise seemed worthy of use.
Hi Joseph, our privacy policy and terms and conditions definitely deserve an update, but nobody inside the company has access to the recordings on Async, and none of the data & recordings are being used for anything. We'll work on making that clear
nobody does voice notes like async! it saves so much time spent on context setting, follow ups, and sharing updates. as a chronically ill person, there are very few tools that enable me to prioritize my health and async happens to be one of them
I've been using the product for a few months now and cannot imagine my work day without it! From chatting with founders to debriefing with colleagues, Async has saved me some precious time :)
Amazingly well designed product, a huge upgrade compared to Whatsapp voice messages. I immediately took a premium account and got my personal URL after trying :) Great job team Async!
Congrats @ilan and team!! Async is literally one of a kind — there's nothing else like it out there.
Ilan and the team have been super responsive with early feedback over the past few months, and iterating quickly. Async completely solves the problem of long voice notes and fills a void between long email threads and calendared meetings.
I love having a branded link I can share with others or on my website for people to leave notes at, or share in an email as a response to someone. Agree with some of the other comments that removing registration for the other side would remove some friction — understood why it's there, but I wouldn't mind dealing with any spam etc.
That said, upvoting this and hope it gets #1 for the day (even though we have a product of our own on Product Hunt today!) because it's just that good. Congrats all!! 🌟👏🏽
This solves a huge problem - I love sending voice messages but actually don't like listening I'd rather read haha. It's like a quicker version of having to send someone a loom! What an awesome idea - how did you guys come up with this?!
I am an Async Enthusiast. The concept is fantastic, and it looks super promising! A big shoutout to the entire team behind this exciting project. Let's go @ilan
The idea of replacing live meetings with voice notes resonates with me, especially in today's fast-paced world. The convenience and productivity of voice messages are undeniable, and it's great to see Async bringing this communication format to the work stack.
The features you've highlighted, such as the personalized URLs, accurate transcripts, time-stamped reactions, and seamless integration with existing workflows, make Async stand out even more.
I'm thrilled to see how this platform evolves. Congrats on the public beta launch, and cheers to a successful journey ahead!
